Nidd House Farm

A beautifully refurbished Grade 2 Georgian farmhouse situated in an idyllic peaceful position surrounded by open countryside and access to country walks.

Ideal for family or friendship group get togethers (with or without children) this farmhouse sleeps 6 adults and 2 children (up to 12 years old) or 7 adults. 

Inside the farmhouse there is an entrance porch/boot room leading to a cosy snug with double sofa bed, log burner and smart TV.

A separate living room with comfy sofa, giant beanbag, log burner and wall mounted smart TV.

An open plan fully equipped dining kitchen including American fridge freezer (and ice machine), washing machine, dishwasher, hob & oven, microwave and coffee machine. Oak dining table, built in real flame electrical fire and wall mounted smart TV. Alexa, board games & a selection of adult & children’s books.

3 bedrooms each with king size bed, bedside cabinets, hanging/storage space, dressing table with mirror and a with wall mounted smart TV. 2 of the bedrooms have window seats & cushions with stunning views overlooking the River Nidd.

Single bedroom with trundle bed, bedside cabinets and hanging space. (Please note that when both fully pulled out the trundle bed fills the whole room so only suited for two children under the age of 12 or one adult).

House bathroom with twin basins, bath, shower, toilet, shaving point and heated towel rail. This is upstairs.

Separate WC with toilet, basin and heated towel rail. This is upstairs.

The property has high speed Wi-fi and is centrally heated throughout.

Outside is a beautiful fully enclosed private country garden bound on one side by a section of the original ‘Monk Wall’.

Exclusive use of a spa hot tub, wood fired pizza oven, BBQ, patio furniture, Caledonia Play wooden swing set with basket swing, play house and garden games.

Guests can enjoy use of a private pathway from the property to the River Nidd where they can sit and enjoy the beautiful views and local wildlife.

All your essentials such as bedding, towels, robes, slippers, hairdryers, USB ports, crockery, glasses, utensils, highchair, baby bath, changing mat, baby gates and cot (please note for Health & Safety purposes we cannot provide cot bedding) are provided – there is a full list in our Digital Guest Welcome Book which you will receive with your booking confirmation email.

Also provided are board games, binoculars, books, walking map, smart speaker, torch, outdoor muddy paws and boot wash, storage for muddy boots and coats.

Haystacks will consider allowing up to 2 medium sized dogs to join you, providing they have good manners and know how to behave in the countryside where there are many temptations such as livestock, deer, pheasants, squirrels and rabbits.

Please ensure you contact us prior to adding a dog to your booking and note we cannot accept larger breeds or puppies (up to 12 months old).

We provide the use of a towel, throw, bowls, treats, LED collar, identity disc (with our contact details), poop bags, shampoo and muddy paw wash – in return we ask that you please respect our lovely farmhouse and do not allow your dog on seated areas, upstairs or on the beds.

Our price includes a Welcome Hamper filled with Yorkshire goodies, locally sourced breakfast ingredients for your first morning as well as a starter pack of logs for the wood burners. You can also feed the Highland Cattle & Alpacas at your leisure.

We have onsite parking for up to 4 cars outside the farmhouse.

Please note – other than those guests stipulated upon booking, no other visitors are permitted to visit the accommodation or the premises during your stay, unless agreed in writing by Haystacks.

Situated close to the historic Nidd Valley Railway line overlooking fields and the River Nidd this peaceful setting is a stone’s throw away from country walks, a 5 minute walk from The Station Hotel (our village pub serving great food, which is dog and child friendly), a 5 minute drive/15 minute walk through the village to The Dale Stores (our award winning village shop fully stocked with everything you need) or a 20 minute drive into the Victorian spa town of Harrogate your stay can be as tranquil and peaceful or active as you would like.

You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes(s) to explore the local area. Or, if fishing is your thing Haystacks have fishing rights to an approx 1 mile stretch of the River Nidd running along our land and a rowing boat which you are welcome to use free of charge (you will need to bring all your own tackle etc).

A bit of history – the build of Nidd House Farm was commissioned by Samuel & Martha Moorhouse in 1795. Our two Shepherds Huts are named Martha & Samuel after this couple
